Mother’s Notes is a portfolio consisting of 14 original prints designed by H Schenck and printed by UTA Wild Pony Editions. The folio contains 13 prints illustrating a series of clues and 1 corresponding map. The digital printed imagery for the clues originated from the handwritten instructions made by the artist’s mother. The type was set based on the characteristics of the handwriting (i. e. spacing, capitals, etc.) and was selected based on the literary reference to children’s rhymes. The map is a digitally printed illustration of the artist’s home in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The prints were created using an Epson Large format printer and Vandercook 320G proof press with 12pt Century School Book font on archival white BFK heavy weight paper. H Schenck designed and created a series of thank you notes for the group Performance SW. The group approached Schenck specifically for his aesthetic. The idea for the prints was proposed to the duo, who then selected the objects. Each image was altered and printed digitally.
